So, as we move forward into our plans for March of 2012, let me ask you a serious question. Is Memphis capable of supporting a festival like Pygmalion or even a SXSW? Will you come out this year and help us build that? I sincerely hope so! This is a growing process which means great things for this year. I can guarantee an expanded lineup to satisfy even the most aggressive indie craving. Now, there will be a few changes that will be released as we move closer to festival time so please stay tuned. About the Artists

Brandon Kinder of The Wealthy West hails from Memphis and is the lead singer of The Rocketboys. He was a guitar player in the Memphis band dora before moving to Texas. In March, he was one of the 30-something acts that played Fareveller’s first year alongside Ben Nichols from Lucero, Margot and the Nuclear So and So’s and Morning Teleportation. His first album is now out called Volume 1 – An EP. Here is a song off of it.

David Ramirez is an extremely accomplished songwriter who logged more than 150 shows last year on the road. He has a new EP out entitled Strange Town. Here’s a song off it.

Well, we did it Memphis! Fareveller 1.0 was a huge success with over 1,200 people attending over 3 nights. Thank you to everyone who supported the festival through sponsorships, media coverage or simply attending. If you came and did not get a chance to buy a t-shirt or a poster, we have quite a few left and will be selling them at the Fareveller thank you show coming up. Stay tuned for more details on that. You will not be disappointed!

In other news, The International Folk Alliance, a Fareveller partner, has announced the lineup to their annual conference taking place February 16-20 in Memphis at the downtown Marriott Hotel. If you haven’t heard of the Folk Alliance, then get yourself down to South Main and check out their office across from Bluff City Coffee. Extremely nice people work within their doors, and Memphis is lucky to have such a great creative commodity. Here is their site with the lineup and tons of other great info.

We’re getting some great people to say some great things about us! The news is out, and we’d like to personally thank Rachel Hurley for our first article on The Vinyl District.

Christmas night, we’re assuming everyone will be at the Blue Monkey for a festive show with This Is Goodbye and Star and Micey. We’ll have a Fareveller table set up so come stop by, buy us a beer and tell us how much happier your life is now that Fareveller’s in the world!
